Christo Schutte (MA, ACC)

Christo Schutte founded The Game Within to support professionals who are passionate about tying their workplace learning to a sport that they love. An elite athlete himself, Christo has spent the last decade developing leaders in business and sport.

As his corporate leadership development practice evolved, he began noticing how traditional executive coaching often falls short. He found that traditional leadership development focused on external elements of productivity, management and other indicators rather than the internal factors that produce them. Additionally, his background in sport became an instant point of connection with clients and they, in turn, used sports as the language for communicating their aspirations and struggles.  The Game Within was born.

As president for The Game Within, Christo is a sought-after executive coach, speaker and seminar leader. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s globally renowned leadership program and a certified member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He also holds a master’s degree in counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary (Hatfield, PA) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pretoria (Pretoria, RSA).

Prior to pursuing his executive coaching and leadership development career, Christo was CEO of his own start-up, Shosholoza Directional Signing, through which he raised $20 million in seed capital.

A nationally ranked tennis player in his country of origin – South Africa – Christo got his start in the coaching ranks as a tennis professional who mentored both elite and amateur players.  In doing so, he built the cornerstone of his philosophy and process. Christo and The Game Within work closely with Alwyn Voster, a PGA professional, to develop the tight link between business and golf.

Christo and his wife, Faith resides in the greater Philadelphia area where he pursues The Game Within and continues to play tennis and golf.

Alwyn Vorster

Alwyn Vorster is a sought after golf instructor in South Africa. As a PGA Club Professional he has invested the last decade on developing peak performing golfers of all levels and is a consummate promoter of the game of golf. He enrolled at the PGA of South Africa in 2005.

He was employed as golf director at the Golf Hub, an indoor golfing facility in Pretoria, from 2006 to 2008. Currently, he’s the director of coaching at Irene Country Club in Pretoria.  His clientele ranges from private schools to corporate clients such as Investec, ABSA bank and AFMA animal feeds, to name only a few. 

He also has been proven to be invaluable to the Rovos Rail, one of the most luxurious trains in the world.  Alwyn has been part of their exclusive nine-day golf Safaris for the past four years, where his involvement includes the organizing of  golfing logistics, arranging of the tournament leader boards and also his instruction through golfing clinics and the high-speed swing analysis of each individual player on the trip.  

He is also the founder and owner of Golf Exclusive, which provides individual clients, as well as companies with a unique golfing experience and includes individual lessons, half or full-day events.

Alwyn, resides in Pretoria, South Africa and is also a professional musician that is busy with his Private Pilots License.
